Wellness Through Breathing Exercise
Breathing exercise is also termed as Pranayam “Pran-ayam” in Hindu Mythology.” Pran “ means air and life and “Ayam” mean exercise. Only 1 out of million people breathe properly for healthy and longer life. Our breath can alter our lives dramatically if we breathe properly and this can be done with proper practice of breathing. Many of us just seem to take it for granted that we are breathing fine. You will notice that how you change one of the most fundamental of autonomic behaviors; you can change your entire state of mind and physiology for better health and longer life.
“When you breathe in you inspire. When you breathe out you expire.
I was a boxer in my school time. My instructor was a great Guru of Yoga and meditation beside a boxer. He taught me little trick that when I was exhausted while boxing I must stay back and concentrate on my breathing. I was asked to take longer breathe to re-energize myself and it worked great and I used to be winner. I started practicing this in my day-to-day life and it is working great. This means when our body is exhausted or in a verse of loosing energy we breathe faster. At this stage of exhaustion our breathing rate is much more than in normal state. For example, when you are in a state of fury you will notice your breathing rate is much more than in normal state. The best way to calm yourself is to stay back for a while and concentrate on your breathe. Take longer breathe for couple of times and your fury will disappear magically and this way you will save a beautiful relationship with the person you were mad at. How can you achieve this magic rhythm of breathing? Many gurus advise people to do breathing exercise regularly. You start each day with a breathing exercise of inhaling slowly and deeply, then holding it for twice as long as the inhalation and exhaling in twice the pace. It really is invigorating and a great way to get motivated at the start of the day, especially if you are looking to do some things with your day that require motivation. Initially you can practice for 10 to 15 minutes a day and slowly can increase this period to 30 minutes. Start breathing comfortably but deeply, in through your nose
